To prepare the opening, on June 23rd 2017, of the Fine Arts Museum of Nantes by architects Stanton Williams, the firm directors Paul Williams and Patrick Richard will give a talk at the Weston Theatre in London, on June 6th 2017. Entitled “Transformation and Continuity”, it will deal with the relationship between architecture and memory, with the participation of architectural historian Tom Dyckhoff. Indeed, the Nantes museum is an extension and rehabilitation project of a 19th century building. The speakers will try to answer the question : How does the history of a site, a context, a building, can influence the sense of place and the creation of new architecture projects ?
