What's new

Focus on Spain

Since winning the Golden Lion at the 2016 Venice Biennale, Spain has appeared as a leader in terms of architectural quality, and we regularly refer to the Spanish scene as a mix of inventiveness, attention to detail and local relevance. What is the basis of this model? How do young Spanish architects combine their demand for quality with precarious economic conditions?

AA’s 419th issue answers this questions by showcasing offices less well known than the last Pritzker laureates to highlight a particularly creative and dynamic young architectural scene.
