Set up in 2003, LCDA became Concrete LCDA in 2011, when Julien Gay, Julien and Valentin Delalande decided to take over the activity. Revitalized, the firm specialized in concrete products for interior architecture, is today composed by a 30 people team. The partners answer today to L’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui’s questions.

Could you present your firm and your latest projects?

Concrete LCDA is a European leader in lightweight interior concrete panels production. Our society has been created in 2010, and is now settled in five different cities and Countries (Paris, London, Singapore, Hong Kong and New York). Our products are suitable for all types of projects: retail, hospitality, housing… Recently, we have worked on a project for Publicis Media in the Paris Bastille district, as well as on the rehabilitation project of the Voltaire Tower at the La Défense district, with the architect Jean-Philippe Nuel.

You are participating to Maison & Objet Projets this year, which are the products and/or the innovative solutions dedicated to architects that you’ll be presenting?

This year we are launching two new features. A new collection of our Panbeton line signed by Normal Studio and Neri & Hu; five new patterns for our large-format lightweight wall concrete panels Panbeton. We are also launching a new product, the Slimbeton, a ultra-thin (7mm thick), high-performance fiber concrete. Besides being very light, the panel can be easily and rapidly installed. It’s an ideal top-up for our Panbeton collection, due to its reduced dimensions and price.

According to you, what are the future changes of your activity area and the major challenges to be addressed by 2020?

The line of business of interior concrete wall panels is increasingly developing throughout the world. One of our current challenges is being able to provide the same service, reactivity and sample availability quality to USA and France based clients. This is why we have recently opened our first headquarters in New York.  Another challenge this year will be to obtain an environmental certification for our products, as this is highly required in some Countries such as Scandinavia.
