Focus : Atelier du Pont

Today, AA highlights Atelier du Pont, French office founded in 1997 by Anne-Cécile Comar, Philippe Croisier and Stéphane Pertusier. This studio, Paris and Lyon based, has delivered in 2016 the Hotel des Communes du Pays des Herbiers (Vendée, France), and is delivering later this year the project of the new headquarters of the French Public Health agency in Saint-Maurice (Paris region). AA presents you these two projects in images.

Hôtel des Communes du Pays des Herbiers :

Completed in June 2016, the Hôtel des Communes du Pays des Herbiers (community of towns located in Vendée, France), was thought of as an extension of the former city hall of Les Herbiers, a middle-19th century mansion located in a municipal flower park . Recognizable thanks to its curved facade, almost entirely glazed, the building subtly finds its place in the existing environment. The ground floor is accessible and dedicated to the public, whilst the other floors host offices. The building won, in 2017, the Special Trophy Eiffel Award, the S.ARCH Architecture Awards and was bronze medal winner of the American Architecture Prize.

Headquarters of Santé Publique France à Saint-Maurice (94) :

With construction underway, the building of the new head office of Santé Publique France (french public health agency)—located in the commune of Saint-Maurice in Val-de-Marne at the edge of the Bois de Vincennes—should open its doors current 2018. Built with a wooden structure, the building is composed of two branches that form an open angle on the greater length of the triangular plot. A configuration that is inspired by neighboring castles.
