MUSIC IS AIR, ARCHITECTURE IS LIGHT
Alberto CAMPO BAEZA is a man of letters, committed to his art body and soul. Between gravity and weightlessness, transparency and translucency, light structures and structural light, he strives to build poems to be lived in. His buildings sensitively capture the landscape and reinvent the static typologies in our imagination. His masters are Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier and Barragan and also Goya and Rembrandt, geniuses of light, of matter. AA met with him in his Madrid office.

THE GENTILUOMO VERSUS THE ARROGANCE OF ARCHITECTS
Stanislaus VON MOOS' response to Vittorio Magnago Lampugnani.
Calling an artist who happens to disregard the canon of taste and elaborate craftsmanship a "dauber" would be hard to imagine nowadays. In architecture, however, traditionalist art prejudice appears to be back in fashion. Are urban design and architecture about to become the stage for a new fundamentalism?

BACK FROM CITY ONE
At first, CITY ONE may appear to be nothing more than a rather intriguing place name on the Hong Kong metro map. However, this ever expanding neighbourhood, also known as Shatin, is home to 650,000 people and is one of this city's largest and most impressive districts, comprising 52 nearly identical residential tower blocks which house some 40,000 people.

AARHUS SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE
The Aarhus School of Architecture, in Denmark's second-largest city, is attended by nearly 800 students, with around hundred fulltime teachers. Resolutely international in its approach, the school has been invited to the next Venice Biennale, which will see 30 or so Master's students display work on the theme "Future Greenland". Before discovering their work, AA reviews the degree projects of five recent graduates.
